LIKE BEAUTIFUL AND VARIABLE KALEIDOSCOPE
Amy is charismatic and variable performer, injecting her soul into all her characters and with her own style of performance and visual storytelling she renders entertaining moments that may charm your heart, invoke laughter, anger or new ideas, but will never leave you cold. Burlesque itself does not mean just work for Amy - it means joy of creative art - positive feelings which she wishes to share with her audience. Audiences love Amy and she loves her audiences. Amy is not easily descriped, she is better to be experiened. WILD AT HEART AND A CHILD OF NATURE Amy has been based on Helsinki, but her roots are deep in North Finland, magical homeland of Santa himself and far beyond the Arctic Circle. When she takes over the stage, this northern belle exudes the exotic magic of Lapland. With her charismatic stage presence and graceful dance motion, she shall surely capture the audience eye. With a bit mischievous twinkle in her eye, Amy brings lively burlesque performances on stage - where ever she goes. This daughter of the North is like a burning breeze when she loses her temper but when the freeze calms down - she brings up the sweetest grace the spring has to offer. But beware of the frost, she isn’t just a young maid, but a worldly Lapland Lass. Her home is in the fells of Lapland, where the northern lights dance in the darkness of the winter sky, and where the sun never sets during the nightless nights of summer. From there also comes this beaming joy of burlesque. A MY WAY When Amy discovered the fascinating world of burlesque in 2011, she lost her map and her compass went crazy. She has never found her way back since. The path that started with burlesque dance classes took a decisive turn towards performing in 2012. Amy has been creating her own career ever since, performing in burlesque events and clubs. You may have also come across with Amy’s multidimensional artistic alter ego in draglesque. She has made appearances as a faux queen with an attitude: Diva. But she does not only lip-sync. While hosting events, her microphone is on and she keeps audience entertained in between performers. There isn´t either very many unfamiliar tasks for her stage kitten character called Rose Re-Pair. She has mostly been solo artist, but earlier she has also performed with Bettie’s Angels. The burlesque troupe consisted Bettie Blackheart’s students from her weekly classes at Himo Club in Helsinki until 2015. Even if you haven’t always seen Amy performing on stage, she still has often been there, working and multitasking in “behind the scenes”. On summer 2016 she produced the first time her own "Re-Triggered Burlesque Revue" (Uudesti Laukeava Burleski Revyy) taking burlesque up high in Lapland, northernmost in Finland. This first revue was performed together with Lippy Honeybun and Tex Willner and produced in collaboration with Inariweeks (Inari Municipal) and Hotel Kultahippu in Ivalo. Again on 22.7.2017 Re-Triggered Burlesque Revue returned back to Ivalo, and this time Madame Joy, and seven other performers from all over from Finland, made show named "Hard Tea with High Heels". Theme was based on timeline 1920-1930, stories of prohibition and speakeasy. Production was also part of Suomi Finland 100 years official programme. Also on October 2017 she made her first official appearance on international stages, competing in Bohemian Queen Night at Bohemian Burlesque Festival in Prague, Czech republic. Not a rest for the wicked because in the beginning of November Amy was co-hosting in brand new, all night event Circus Mystique at Kulttuuriareena Gloria in Helsinki. Most recently she has been assistant producer on Circus Mystique´s events. She has also done marketing tasks and many graphics designs for the same production. Her latest journey, to compete in Dublin Burlesque Festival 2018 was lovely success. For her own big suprise, Amy won 1st prize and returned with trophy back to Helsinki. Amy is a skilled in many creative ways, like unprofessional make-up artist, costume making and has helped numerous beginner performers with their looks. She also teaches burlesque workshops, private bachelorette parties and basic burlesque element courses. Amy is also a professional graphic and media designer. She has designed many burlesque posters and other products. Also drawing on this background Amy has been teaching performers how to mix down their music and editing promotional pictures.
